Dickinson County Council for the Arts - Iron Mountain
Annual summer events "Festival of the Arts" features: "Art for All" Juried art show, "Out to Lunch" provides music in downtown Iron Mountain, Music under the Stars and professional entertainment such as the "Detroit Symphony".

Starts on Thursday and goes thru Labor Day. 4-H fair with crafts, food, produce and apparel displays. All kinds of animals. Livestock auction. Horse and cart, harness, and stock car races. Horse and truck pulling contests. Carnival, food and nationally known entertainment.

The fair showcases traditional family fun; horse pull, antique tractor show, horse shows, carnival, and more! Live music, fun and excitement! Always held one week before Labor Day. Located 1/3 mile south of Hwy US 2 in Florence. Wisconsin.
Pine Mountain Music Festival
Music fills the air in June and July as musicians gather to present work shops, Harp, Operas and Chamber music. Enjoy Metropolitan and Lyric Operas, Detroit Chamber Winds, Bergonzi String Quartet, stage hits and other outstanding artists.

Woodtick Festival (August)
The Woodtick Music Festival grounds are located on County Road 388 between Hermansville and Powers.
Watch for the signs! Outdoor concert featuring rock, blues, bluegrass and country music.

Iron Mountain Iron Mine Vulcan, Michigan (906) 563-8077
On US-2 in Vulcan, 10 miles east of Iron Mountain. Guided underground mine tours by train, through 2,600 feet of underground shafts to see the reality of iron mining. Largest rock shop in the Upper Michigan. Group rates and tours by appointment. Hours: 9AM to 5PM daily Memorial Day through October 15.
Millie Mine Bat Cave Park Ave., North off East A St., Iron Mountain, Michigan
An abandoned mine shaft, with a consistent temperature of 40 degrees. A specially designed cage allows the bats to come and go, but keeps all else out of the shaft! It the second largest known colony of hibernating bats in North America. They leave the mine in late April and return in September, making this the only viewing times. Parking lot, walking path, benches, and informational plaques. FREE!

Pine Mountain Ski Jump Located off US-2/141 on the Pine Mountain Road, Iron Mountain, Michigan
The "King of Hills" is a 123.5 meter ski slide, the world's highest artificial ski jump. The scaffold is 186 ft. high, the length of the slide is 381 ft. The height of the landing hill is 349 ft. and the length of entire run is 1,440 ft. Estimated speed at take off from end of scaffold is 55 to 60 miles per hour, landing is 65 miles per hour. National and International Jumps are held each year during the month of February.
"SKI-TERS' - Water Ski Show
Located at Vagabond Park, 3/4 mile west of MI-WI Bridge in Wisconsin, mid June thru mid August, Wed. and Sunday, 6PM. FREE! Enjoy this exciting water ski show and watch the 2003 National Championship Jump Team preform their exciting jumping acts.
