CORNISH PUMP MUSEUM

Two blocks west of US-2 on Kent Street. The museum's focal points are an 8 1/2' WW II glider replica and a 725 steeple compound condensing engine. Rising 54' from the engine room floor and documented as the Nation's largest engine capable of pumping 4.5 million gallons daily. Also, holds sections of a Ford Glider, made of WWII, in the nearby "dry house".
Admission: Adults-$5, Seniors $4.50, Ages 10-18 - $3, 9 and under-free.
Hours: Open daily. Summer 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, Noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Memorial Day - Labor Day.
MENOMINEE RANGE HISTORICAL FOUNDATION MUSEUM

One block east of US-2 at 300 East Ludington Street. Over 100 dramatic, turn-of-the-century exhibits of life on the Menominee Iron Range. Thousands of artifacts are displayed in authentic settings.
Admission: Adults-$5, Seniors $4.50, Ages 10-18 - $3, 9 and under-free.
Hours: Summer: Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Open Memorial Day thru Labor Day.
Visit both the Cornish Pump and Menominee Range Museums for: $8-Adults, $4 for 10-18, and $7 for Seniors.
IRON MOUNTAIN MINE - Vulcan, MI - 906-563-8077
On US-2 10 miles east of Iron Mountain. Guided underground mine tours by train, through 2,600 feet of underground drifts and stopes to see the reality of iron mining. Largest rock shop in Upper Michigan. Group rates and tours by appointment.
Admission: Adults-$7, Ages 6-12 - $6, 6 and under-free.
Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily Memorial Day -October 15.
IXL HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Hermansville, MI - 906-498-2498
IXL is derived from the working "I excel", a mark of the superiority of the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company products. It was built in 1881, a richly preserved memorial of the great timber era. Enjoy office equipment, furniture, and tools, elegant furnishing, ceiling Fresco, machinery, and flooring samples.
Open: Memorial Day thru Labor Day, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. CT. Special groups by appt.
JAKE MENGHINI HISTORICAL MUSEUM

US-2, West end of Norway . New musuem Now Open! Displays items from Jake's personal collection. Exhibits change yearly. Railroads and mining were themes for 2000, emphasis on Norway history.
