On US-2 in Vulcan, 10 miles east of Iron Mountain. Guided underground mine tours by train, through 2,600 feet of underground shafts to see the reality of iron mining. Largest rock shop in the Upper Michigan. Group rates and tours by appointment. Opens May 29, 2010. Hours: 9AM to 5PM daily Memorial Day through October 15.

Millie Mine Bat Viewing Area

Iron Mountain Wildlife viewing site area with information on Upper Peninsula bats. A covered mine shaft allows bats to enter and leave the shaft where they hybernate in the winter months. Best viewing times are approximately May and September.

The Deyoung Family Zoo features animals from around the world in a natural setting.  The zoo is home to over 400 animals including Tigers and primates.

Pine Mountain Ski Jump Located off US-2/141 on the Pine Mountain Road, Iron Mountain, Michigan

The "King of Hills" is a 123.5 meter ski slide, the world's highest artificial ski jump. The scaffold is 186 ft. high, the length of the slide is 381 ft. The height of the landing hill is 349 ft. and the length of entire run is 1,440 ft. Estimated speed at take off from end of scaffold is 55 to 60 miles per hour, landing is 65 miles per hour. National and International Jumps are held each year during the month of February.

Pine Mountain Music Festival

Music fills the air in June and July as musicians gather to present work shops, Harp, Operas and Chamber music. Enjoy Metropolitan and Lyric Operas, Detroit Chamber Winds, Bergonzi String Quartet, stage hits and other outstanding artists.

Dickinson County Council for the Arts - Iron Mountain

Annual summer events "Festival of the Arts" features: "Art for All" Juried art show, "Out to Lunch" provides music in downtown Iron Mountain, Music under the Stars and professional entertainment such as the "Detroit Symphony".

"SKI-TERS' - Water Ski Show

The Badwater Ski-Ters present shows Wednesday and Sunday Nights at Vagabond Park in Spread Eagle, Wis. The shows are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free. This award winning show is great entertainment for the entire family. Food and beverages available during the shows, and donations accepted.

Starts on Wednesday and goes thru Labor Day. 4-H fair with crafts, food, produce and apparel displays. All kinds of animals. Livestock auction. Horse events, stock car races and horse and pulling contests. Carnival rides, games and food.

Live music, fun and excitement! Always held one week before Labor Day. Located 1/3 mile south of Hwy US 2 in Florence. Wisconsin.
