Canoeing & Kayaking - Dickinson County is blessed with a wealth of beautiful rivers and lakes for canoeists and kayakers alike. Piers Gorge - Norway
The most challenging section of whitewater in the Midwest, the Menominee River plummets down a 10 foot waterfall and tumbles wildly through canyon walls, forming powerful hydraulics and huge standing waves.  For expert kayakers and rafters. A nature trail offers great views of the falls, perfect for hikers, camera bugs and rock hounds. Take US-8 off US-2 in Norway and go 2 miles south. Piers Gorge Rafting Adventures:

Wildman Whitewater Rafting or Kosir's Rapid Rafts.

Cross-Country Skiing, Hiking & Biking Trails - After you've parked the camper or pitched the tent, you'll discover hundreds of miles of logging trails and country roads that beckon mountain bikers, hikers, horseback riders and ORVs and ATVs. Remember.... when summer turns to winter, hiking and biking trails turn to excellent cross-country ski trails.

• Fumee Lake Natural Area
  2 miles east of US 2, 1 mile north on Upper Pine Creek Rd. 7, 2 and 1 mile loops. Groomed cross-county ski trail also.
• Gene's Pond
  Cty Rd 581 (Norway Lk Rd), take Gene's Pond Rd to parking area. Trail starts at boat launch, goes to scenic overlook and through wildlife opening. 2.3 miles.
• Iron Mountain City Park
  West off US-2, end of "A" St. 4 loops totaling 3.5 km. Easy to difficult paths. Groomed cross-county ski trail also.
• Lake Antoine
  Walk is located at Lake Antoine Park just north of Iron Mtn.
• Lake Mary Plains
  West on M-69 from Sagola. South on Glidden Lk Rd. Both loops 3.4 miles. Groomed cross-county ski trail also.
• Marion Park
  Starts anywhere on Brown St and circles Marion Park, on US-8 in Norway.
• Merriman East Pathway
  Off the Merriman East Truck Trail. Pathway A is 3.3 miles and Pathway B is 5.6 miles.
• Piers Gorge
  Just off US-8 in Norway offers a view of the gorge and white water rafting. 2 miles.
• Riverside Park
  North Niagara, WI, Washington Ave off US-141. Several loops totaling 11 miles. Many easy, one expert trail. Groomed cross-country ski trail also.
• Strawberry Lake Recreation
  4 blocks North on Main St from US-2 traffic light.
• West Branch Pathway
  On Cty Rd 581, 6 miles north of Ralph. Pathway is 1.4 miles. Starts from campground east of Cty Rd 581.

  2 miles off US-2 on Bass Lake Road.
• Carney Lake
  6 1/2 miles north on M-95 to Merriman Road east, 21/2 miles, left 4 miles to lake. 117 acres. Perch and walleye. Boat launch, swimming beach, 11 campsites, water and toilets. Bank fishing.
• Cowboy Lake - Kingsford
  Carpenter to Woodward to Cowboy Lake Road to the lake.
• Edey Lake
  Off M-95 north of Channing.
• Escanaba (West Branch) & Tributaries
  North on M-95 to Channing, east on Turner Road to County Rd. 581, north to river. Brook trout. Bank fishing.
• Ford River & Tributaries
  North on M-95 to Channing, East on Turner Road. Brook Trout - Dickinson County only.
• Gene's Pond - Norway Lake area
  61/2 miles west of Theodore via County Road 581 - County Road 422. 700 acres. Largemouth bass, walleye, crappie, perch. Boat launch, bank fishing. 14 campsites with water and toilets.
• Hamilton Lake - Loretto
  US-2 to Loretto, take Hamilton Lake Road 24 miles then left on South Lake Louise Road. 75 acres. Bass. bluegill, northern, crappie, walleye, perch rock bass. Boat launch, bank fishing. Chain of lakes: Hamilton, Louise and Mary.
• Hanbury Lake - Vulcan
  US-2 between Norway and Vulcan, turn right on Lake St and continue to lake. 89 acres. Bass, crappie, northern, bluegill, walleye. Boat launch and bank fishing. Picnic area, vault toilets, water, swimming beach.
• Hardwood Impoundment
  M-95 or 569 north to 69 east to Impoundment. 1200 acres. Bass, crappie, northern, bluegill, walleye. Boat launch, bank fishing. campsites, water.
• Lake Antoine - Iron Mountain
  US-2, 4 miles north of Iron Mountain on the Lake Antoine Road. 748 acres. Northern, perch crappie, bass. Boat launch, bank fishing. camping, swimming, boating, electric, water and toilets.
• Lake Ellen State Forest Park - Channing
  4 miles west of Channing via Campground Road. Vault toilets, water, boat launch, good trout fishing. Non-winterized.
• Lake Louise - Loretto
  US-2 to Loretto, take Hamilton Lake Road 24 miles then left on South Lake Louise Road. 80.5 acres. Bass, bluegill, northern and perch. Chain of lakes: Hamilton, Louise and Mary.
• Lake Mary - Loretto
  US-2 to Loretto, take Hamilton Lake Road 24 miles then right on south Lake Mary Road. 86 acres. bass, bluegill, crappie, northern, perch, rock bass. Boat launch, bank fishing. Picnic area, bathrooms, pavilion, horseshoe court, swimming, sandy beach, kiddy lot. Lake Mary Day held each July. Chain of lakes: Hamilton, Louise and Mary.
• Menominee River - WI-MI border
  Off US 2/141. Access from Cowboy Lake, Hydraulic Falls and County Road 607. Boundry waters for MI and WI - use either fishing license. Bass, northern, muskie, perch, bluegill, rock bass, crappie, walleye. Boat launches, bank fishing. Swimming, campsites, canoeing.
• Michigamme River
  Begins at Lake Michigamme, runs through the Peavy Falls backwater and enters into the Menominee River.
• Norway Lake - Felch area
  6 miles north of Felch on County Road 581( Norway Lake Rd). 52.9 acres. Bass, bluegill. Boat launch, bank fishing. 25 campsites, electric, water, toilets. Swimming beach.
• Pine Creek
  Originates in Randville, runs through Copper Country State Forest, ends at Norway. Brook Trout. Bank fishing.
• Sawyer Lake - Channing area
  4 miles north of Channing on M-95, west on Sawyer Lake Road. 241 acres. Smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, bluegill, northern, crappie. Boat launch, bank fishing. 30 campsites with water and toilets. Swimming.
• Silver Lake - Channing area
  6 miles north of Channing on M-95. 118 acres. Smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, bluegill, perch, crappie.boat launch, bank fishing. 30 campsites with electricity, water and toilets. Swimming beach.
• Sturgeon Falls Impoundment
  US-2 to County Road 577 south to Impoundment.
• Twin-Falls Flowage - Badwater Lake
  US-2 to Bass Lake Road, drive under bridge (north) to lake. 640 acres. Bass, perch, crappie, muskie, bluegill, northern. Boat launch, bank fishing. Swimming.
• West Branch of Sturgeon & Tributaries
  M-95 to river (just past Randville). River travels basically with M-69.

Fumee Falls - Quinnesec
Located on US-2 at the roadside park in Quinnesec, 4 miles east of Iron Mountain. Picnic tables, water & toilets.

Fumee Lake - 2 miles east of Quinnesec on US-2, 1 mile north of Upper Pine Creek Rd. 1,808 acre natural area with two lakes providing 5 miles of shoreline for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing & horseback riding. 137 bird species, 270 plant species and 38 animal-reptile species. Wetlands serve as a wildlife recharge area. No motors are allowed and no hunting or fishing at this time.

• Iron Mountain City Park
  West off US-2 on the end of "A" St. Picnic area, grills, tot lot, toilets, log pavilion, electricity and water. Soccer and tennis courts, cross-country skiing and hiking/biking trails and public, lighted sledding hill.
• Lake Antoine County Park & Camping - Iron Mountain - (906) 774-8875
  1 mile east of US-2/141 near north city limits (Lake Antoine Rd). 80 sites, electricity, concession stand, grills, flush toilets, showers, water, swimming beach, boat launch, bank fishing, dump station. Open Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day
• Lake Ellen State Forest Park - Channing
  4 miles west of Channing via Campground Road. Vault toilets, water, boat launch, good trout fishing. Non-winterized.
• Lake Mary Park- Hamilton Lakes
  South on Hamilton Lakes Road from Loretto, west on Lake Mary Road. Picnic area, bathrooms, pavilion, horseshoe court, sandy beach, kiddy lot, boat launch. Lake Mary Day held each July.
• Marion Park- Norway - (906) 563-5891
  On US-8 in Norway. Picnic area, grills, swings, bathrooms, pavilion, tennis court, horseshoe court, golf course and driving range with a club house serving food and beverages. 

Winter Sports - The Iron Mountain and Dickinson County Area offers wonderful opportunities for winter sports enthusiasts with downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.
